Residential Life Staff
Converse’s Residential Life staff seeks to provide a nurturing, safe, secure, and educationally purposeful residential community that supports the mission of the university and the Division of Student Development and Success by offering programs and activities that enrich the community, encourage responsible citizenship and academic excellence, and develop the talents of students.
Resident Directors (RDs)
Every residence hall is staffed by a Resident Director.
Resident Directors (RD’s) are Graduate or Converse II students who live in and supervise the residence halls and work closely with the Community Advisors to relate residential living to the larger academic community. In conjunction with the Community Advisors, RD’s handle administrative responsibilities of the residence hall, such as maintenance requests, keys, and room changes. RDs are available to aid students with personal problems and to refer them to other campus resources when appropriate.
There is a Resident Director or Student Development and Success staff member on call at all times of day and night.
Community Advisors
On every floor of the residence halls, there is an undergraduate Community Advisor (CA) trained to offer service and leadership for the hall. CA’s work actively to develop and maintain a true sense of community which is conducive to intellectual and personal growth and to academic pursuits. To achieve this goal, they plan programs for residents and serve as a valuable resource for information and problem-solving situations. The Residential Life staff has someone on-call when the residence halls are open.
Peer Academic Coaches (PACs)
PACs are upperclassmen who are trained to offer academic support and guidance to incoming students. Working closely with the Division for Student Development and Success, they serve as mentors, community builders and role models. They also assist CA’s with hall programming and act as advocates for the interests, needs and rights of first-year Converse students.
